The 8th Annual Seattle Brain Cancer Walk took place on Sunday, May 3rd at Seattle Center's Fisher Pavilion. Over 3,000 people participated and helped raise over $445,000 for research, clinical trials and comprehensive care for brain cancer patients in the Pacific Northwest. Longtime event sponsor, Northwestern Mutual, came in as the top fundraiser at $57,426. The team's fundraising included a $15,000 grant awarded in honor of Mercer Smith, recipient of Northwest Mutual's Community Service Award. The largest team was Lara's Team, named for a young woman who died from the disease, with 25 members. The Walk, founded in 2008 by a group of committed volunteers and families, has raised over $4 million with a 100% of the walk proceeds going directly to patient care and research. Exciting News! Delta Air Lines has generously donated two more domestic airline tickets to the Seattle Brain Cancer Walk. All individuals that donate over $25 to the Seattle Brain Cancer Walk from September 3 to September 30, 2015 will be entered into a drawing for the tickets. Donations can be made to a past participant or team online or by sending a check to: Swedish Foundation Attn: Seattle Brain Cancer Walk 747 Broadway Seattle, WA 98122 Terms and conditions apply for the tickets. Tickets are based on availability and the winner is responsible for taxes and fees at booking. Tickets must be redeemed by May 5, 2016. Follow us on Facebook for up-to-date info.
