Swedish/Edmonds Imagine Gala 2013 - Support the new emergency department

November 21, 2013
Few people expect to end up in the emergency department. This was true of 73-year-old Jerry Spoonemore, a retired physicist and lawyer who shares an Edmonds home with his wife of 50 years, Norma. It's precisely this unpredictability---the need for immediate medical attention when you least expect it ---that makes convenient access to quality emergency services so vital to a community. Read Jerry's story in the Fall 2013 issue of Impact magazine at http://issuu.com/theswedishfoundation/docs/impact-2013-fall More than 550 people attended the Swedish/Edmonds Imagine Gala on Friday, Nov. 15 at the Lynnwood Convention Center. More than $595,000 was raised from generous community and business leaders in support of the new, 77,000 square-foot Swedish/Edmonds Ambulatory Care Center and its important programs and services, including a new emergency department, which was the featured project of the night. The new ER will have a substantial impact on the health of the community by providing ready access to state-of-the-art emergency care to all patients, regardless of their ability to pay, just minutes from home. Swedish/Edmonds is committed to the health and well-being of its community. On behalf of the patients we serve, we gratefully acknowledge the community members, sponsors and volunteers who joined together to make the 2013 Imagine Gala a night to remember.
